Where to start…
The year was 2020, and three friends decided the smartest decision would be to start a business now that the world was ending. Six years and twice as many mistakes later, the business stands before you.
We could go on about how much we care about coffee and how we do everything in our power to make sure you get the most amazing cup of coffee imaginable—and we do—but odds are you have likely heard all of that before. Yes, we do those things, but not for any degree of superiority or elitist rhetoric. We divine nature and with it, this extra special genus and species.
Coffea arabica and its miraculous production of caffeine, the toxic little secondary metabolite that it is. The sacred coffee plant literally tries to murder its predators, and we think that's metal as hell.
Simply, we prioritize a tight knit cohesive supply chain; no extortion or sketchy middlemen, sustainable and regenerative agriculture practices and small(ish) batch roasting. We promise the coffee curated for your delicate little chemoreceptors is consumed and adored every day by the people who work tirelessly to bring it to you. Truthfully, we started this side project as an excuse to justify drinking world-class coffees, but in its evolution, we asked ourselves one recursive question. Why not share as much incredible coffee as we can with as many people as we can reach, while promoting an all-encompassing ideology that is uncompromising yet welcoming?
We took the mythos of the American West, and collapsed that wave function with abstraction and transcendentalism; thus, Kid Cowboy was born.
Meet the Team
Joe Mocerino
Joe, owner and roaster, didn’t come up through coffee the usual way.
He came out of the hot salty Florida air —with a head wired for the stars and degrees in Chemistry & Astrobiology.
Most people would’ve stayed in orbit. Joe didn’t.
He got hooked on coffee the same way he looks at the universe—pull it apart, understand it, push it further. Variables, pressure, heat, time. Same obsession, different scale.
He doesn’t chase perfect. He chases precise.
Every roast is calculated, tested, pushed until it proves something.
Drew Conserva
Drew, owner, art director, didn’t grow up around here.
Born and raised in Thailand - a place that doesn’t teach you to play it safe.
Drew doesn’t design to decorate but every line, every mark, every decision carries weight. No filler. No softness where it doesn’t belong.
He lives the same way he works—hard, fast, all in. No halfway days, no quiet corners. Just cowboy.
Wesley Dees
Wes, owner and roaster, our big glue guy.
Patient zero from the epidemic of “deez nuts” jokes.
He is an all in or all out kind of guy.
Lucky for us, he is all in on Kid Cowboy. From roasting, being on bar, to managing accounts and the minutia in between. The hydrogen of our universe, he is everywhere.
All Rise for Deezus.
